Our commitment to GDPR.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is coming into effect in all of the EU on May 25, 2018. The GDPR gives users more power and ownership over their personal data. This is important for education and students’ rights, and EF Class complies with the GDPR.

EF Class' commitment to GDPR

At EF Class we’ve always cared about data privacy and security.

  • We only ask for and store personal user data that is needed in order to deliver the service requested.
  • We make it easy for you to delete your personal data if you want to end your account, by emailing class@ef.com.
  • We make sure your data is secure:
    • All student work is securely stored within the European Union, with the world-leading hosting company Amazon Web Services.
    • We have signed Data Processing Agreements with all subcontractors that may process data on behalf of EF Class.

To align even further with the GDPR we will:

  • Allow users to see and access their personal data stored in EF Class.
  • Create European data centers for EF’s own authentication services during summer 2018. Currently we host our own authentication services in the US.
  • Provide a Data Processing Agreement for schools and municipalities, to be downloaded here soon.
  • Update our Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy

We’ll also continue to monitor the guidance around GDPR compliance from privacy-related regulatory bodies, and will adjust our plans accordingly if it changes.

Read our full Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy and let us know if you have questions by emailing class@ef.com.
